Please rate this (part of my) short story /10, I'm an aspiring young writer?

Nice? you NEVER EVER use that word in writing, I have learned this in 4th grade and that was years back. Very un descriptive words like cold and repetitive words like I and Yes. Seems like a 7/10 . not too bad. Sorry for the hard criticize.
