Could Two Planes pulling a spacecraft by a teather, fly apart and help launch it into Orbit.?

LOL A bow and arrow shot into space? An interesting concept, but the accelleration would only be half of the combined accellerations of the two planes. Which basically means it'd be 'shot' at the same speed it was originally flying at. Maybe a slingshot would work better.
