How can I make a cd for my patients?

I have a microphone & cd/dvd burner. I want to record myself reading a relaxation exercise so I can give cds of it to my surgical patients. I have at least 4 media players on my pc but I take it you can't record onto a cd this way. I have a sound recorder but your file has to be a minute or less! I need at least an hour. I probably need to get some software for this but I'm just an intern so I'm pretty much broke. Anyone out there make cds of themselves talking?
