Why can my parents listen to music and watch movies with profanity but don't want me to swear?

They don't want me to swear around them. They always get really mad, yet I always see them watching movies and listening to music with profanity. Either way they're hearing profanity. I told them that that doesn't make any sense, and they said that they don't make any sense.
