Will I be penalized in a show?

NO! They can't penalise you for warning other riders that your horse might kick (even if it doesn't), I do it so other ppl stay away from my horses bum. It's not and admission you've brought a dangerous horse, alot of horses kick if another gets up its bum. Tie it around the base of the braid.
