Why do you think racism is so bad in the U.S.?

I used to think skin color was the main issue. After spending time overseas, though, I noticed America just seems to have an epidemic anger management problem. It's like everyone is at someone elses throat for something. Even if America was all white, I think people would start turning on one another after a while. Kinda like the whole country is just plain pissed about something.
