Does anyone see the bigger picture if the government raises taxes on tobacco products?

Being in the tobacco retail business...I definatly see the bigger picture. April 1st is going to be the beginning of a very hard fall for many. First of all, those who don't want to quit wont. They will continue to spend for their addiction and cut the additional cost from some other place in their lives. Furthermore, if everyone did quit...where would the goverment get their money to fund these "great" programs? They already don't have enough money to fund the SCHIP bill...even with the added taxes on tobacco. Where do you think that will come from? That's right...our pockets! Regardless of my profession, I am sick of working hard and having my money spent to take care of all the people who are too lazy to do it themselves. Get a job like the rest of us and let the "aid programs" be used like they were intended...to aid when you are down and out, not live on all of your life.
