Shingles???

My friend thinks she has shingles. She had a few red dots on her upper arm and a few on her lower shoulder. The nurse sent her home today from school, but I hung out with her afterwards...Is it contagious? I havent had the chicken pox but ive been vaccinated so could I get anything from her?
